About us
Newport Caravans started life in July 2008 with Mark Massey and Rob Lynch who have been working in the caravan industry for a combined total of 46 years. Rob and Mark set up Newport Caravans as a partnership on Penmaen Wharf, selling used touring caravans with a small accessory shop and workshop. The focus was to give a personal service and at affordable prices.
The next 10 months flew by and the business very quickly started to grow. This was due to the great following from loyal customers that we had from the past.
In May 2009 the word out on the street was that the site we had left only 10 months before - the old Mendip site - was to become available.
Without delay the landlord was contacted, a meeting was set up and a deal was done. It was like going back home.
At this point the decision was made to close the partnership and form Newport Caravans Ltd.
This allowed us to develop the business by bringing in the Swift & Sprite agency, 6 bay workshop and a large accessory showroom with awnings, spare parts and accessories on display.
All the advertising was done, radio, local papers and a mail shot to all our customers, opening offers were put in place and we were ready.
At 9.00am on 1st August 2009 we opened the doors, waiting with anticipation for our customers to walk through the door it was not long before we had our 1st customer and it was business as usual again.
